I typically use the terminal app in OSX to connect to HP switches and a Cisco Router, works fine, but I really want to use CoolTerm.
When I do, I get odd characters that show up.
I have tried zoc6 which does the same thing until I tell it to us V100 emulation, then all is fine.
Is there a setting in CoolTerm that will accomplish this?
Sorry for the novice explanation.

Re: VT100 Emulation
CoolTerm does not support VT100 or any other terminal emulation at the present time. However, you can trap some of the odd characters by enabling the following options in the Connection options (on the "Terminal" tab):
- Handle Bell Character
- Convert Non-printable characters
- Handle Backspace Character
I hope this helps

Re: VT100 Emulation
I'm afraid this does not help on HP switches. I believe it is because HP sends escape sequences to format the menu. I found a link that may help provide a better explanation. http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ProCurve-P ... ipG-2TXi3N. I hope this helps to at least identify the problem. I like CoolTerm, but this problem makes it unusable for some of my work.
