CoolTerm erratic behaviour on HEX view

Post by rflmota »

Hello,

I'm using latest stable version of CoolTerm v1.7.0 (Build 825) 64-bit and I've been experiencing erratic behaviour on the hex view, it seems non-printable characters are just being displayed as 00 either I select "Convert Non-printable characters" or not (but I guess this setting should only affect ASCII view). The first byte seems to display right, but the subsequent ones are being displayed as 0x00...

Hi,

the special character handling settings don't affect the hex view.

Can you elaborate as to what sequence of events resulted in what is shown in your screenshot? Also, what is connected to your serial port?

Your screenshot seems indicate that your are sending 0xAA on COM5 which appears to be echoed back by your serial device, followed by a bunch of 0x00. What are you expecting instead?
