When you start a session it is given a default name of "Untitled_1 *" and if (on a Windows system) you go to capture to a Text File, that default text file name will be "CoolTerm Capture (Untitled_1 *) 2024-02-07 13-53-46-157.txt" which Windows will silently reject but do nothing. The problem is that you can't have a * in a file name.
Maybe keep the * in the session name so you know it's unsaved but if you go to capture a file remove the *. I seldom save a session since COM ports tend to change and most of the time (at least for me) I need to quickly check the debug window on a project I'm working on.
This one actually took me a while to figure out why I couldn't capture to a file!

Re: CoolTerm Suggestion
Hmm, yeah, that would be a bug. Looks like you're the first person to notice that one
Yes, the sole purpose for the * is to indicated an unsaved session.
Thanks for letting me know!
