Windows 11, all updates applied/current.
downloaded v2.2 (latest) 64bit windows Coolterm, unzipped it into a directory, all is well... just like i have done before
however, when i double click the CoolTerm.exe, it never comes up/runs, nothing. the only thing that happens when double clicking from explorer is that a momentary change to the mouse pointer occurs.
no window comes up, no evidence it ever did in task manager. somehow missing a dependency ?
checked for VC distro 2015 and its already installed.
checked anti-virus etc and no evidence of a file restricted or quaranteened etc. i have the same AV on my win10 machine where it worked fine.
the entire directory tree/dirs are intact, tried it multiple times, removing/deleting the directory tree and unzipped it again... same result.
works famously on my other machine Win10, what gives??? any ideas ?
help me Obeewankenobee, your my only help !

Hmm. That’s odd. Can you try a slightly older version to see if that one works? You can find previous releases here: http://freeware.the-meiers.org/previous/

Re: Clean install of CoolTerm v2.2 wont come up/run
I would also recommend checking your Windows Security Settings, particularly the "App and Browser Control" settings to see if of them are set up to block unregistered app from running. I'm not a registered developer with Microsoft, so Windows 11 may declare CoolTerm an "untrusted" app. For example, I have a Windows 11 system with Microsoft Defender I sometimes use for testing. It will alert me when I run a new version of CoolTerm for the first time. However, it lets me choose to run it anyway. Perhaps there is a setting that prevents an app from launching altogether, without a warning?
